Somewhere in the galaxy which is called 'the Milky Way' there is a star called Sol. Orbiting this star is a planet known simply as Earth.
Earth conquered space travel in the 31st century, some five hundred years after cryostasis technology was finally made a reality and the first living person to be emerge from cryosleep was awoken.
Having used up most of Earth's oil so that it has become a precious commodity of extortionate prices, humanity sweeps through the Milky Way like a plague, claiming other planets to colonise and sap dry of oil and other commodities.
The year is now 4088 AD.
Thousands of light years away, at the other side of the Milky Way, is an unassuming star system known as the Heptavanis System, thus named because of its seven stars.
Two of these stars are close;
twin suns to a blue-green planet orbiting them both.
This is the next planet on Earth's hit list... unfortunately for Earth, it has a few surprises.
